Amritsar is one such city waiting to witness business excellence and growth in the hospitality space. Hence it’s not a surprise for Hyatt Amritsar to upscale itself to a Hyatt Regency. For the Hyatt Group the evolution was a natural progression keeping the pulse of the market in mind. The customer demand channelised this decision to upscale the product. Amritsar as a destination is on the brink of growth as a couple of factors works in its favour. It is strategically located and is pitched as an ideal hub and access zone for some promising tourist destinations around the region. The government and non government organisations are working on projects to aid this development. The hotel is in its final lap of renovations and is already one of the most preffered hotels in the region. From F&B experiences to wellness the property is focused on providing quality to it’s clients.
However, apart from the hardware and technical developments, Suman Dutta Sharma, GM, Hyatt Regency Amritsar invested in developing the software to bring in the distinct change. From staff training to getting the right person in the right place it was a route that was consciously taken, which worked well. Sharma has worked in various capacities in India and abroad with hospitality majors like Starwood, Hyatt International, The Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts and Taj Group of Hotels as GM of Taj Residency Ernakulam and Taj Malabar- Cochin, followed by a stint with Columbia Asia responsible for entire support functions operations in India, as vice president support services.
In the F&B space the property has a lot to offer. Amritsar is known for its cuisine and the restaurant Punjab Province under the leadership of head chef Shiiv Parvesh brings to your plate the famous Kulchas and more, which is a treat to your palate.
